Final Fantasy VII Revelation has revealed plans for substantial post-launch story content, with two expansions centred on Sephiroth and Vincent Valentine. The information appeared on the game’s Steam listing following a major State of Play presentation.
The game is scheduled to launch on 8 April, with both story add-ons planned for release between Winter 2027 and Spring 2028. Detailed plot information remains limited, although the Vincent expansion is titled Vincent & the Turks.
Two character-focused story expansions
Vincent was formerly associated with the Turks, a faction he belonged to before the events of Final Fantasy VII. That connection could mean the expansion explores his earlier life, though it has not been confirmed whether the chapter will act as a prequel.
The second expansion is simply identified as Story DLC 1: Sephiroth. No further details have been announced about its setting, storyline or gameplay.
Players can find the listed Story Expansion Pass on Steam. A price has not been announced.
What the Story Expansion Pass includes
Final Fantasy VII Revelation’s Story Expansion Pass includes the Reclaimant Choker accessory and Survival Set, along with Story DLC 1: Sephiroth and Story DLC 2: Vincent & the Turks.
The Reclaimant Choker slightly restores HP when enemies are defeated, while the Survival Set provides items intended to help during the early stages of the journey.
The pass will also be sold separately after Final Fantasy VII Revelation launches. Each story expansion will be available as an individual purchase following its own release. The planned content and release window may change without prior notice.
What this means for players
The expansion plan gives Final Fantasy VII Revelation two additional character stories beyond its launch campaign, but the announced window means fans will be waiting until at least Winter 2027 for the first post-launch chapter.
