The Blood of Dawnwalker secret ending guide

Warning: This guide contains spoilers for the secret ending and its post-credits scene.

4

The Blood of Dawnwalker includes an unusual early escape route: Coen can abandon Vale Sangora and end the story without completing the main quest. The choice is easy to miss, but it is available near the beginning of the game if you know where to look.

For players working through a large open-world adventure, it is worth checking our arcade gaming news and features for more guides and industry coverage.

How to find the secret ending

Travel to the marked location at night. The route leads to a damaged bridge in the mountains.

The left-hand side of the image shows Coen standing by a broken bridge in The Blood of Dawnwalker while the right-hand side shows the location of the secret ending marked on the in-game map with a star.

If Coen has levelled up Shadowstep, he can cross the broken bridge in a single move. Without that ability, take the eastern edge down into the valley, just west of the Coward’s Path shrine.

Be careful when exploring the valley early in the game. Going too far can trigger an attack by wolves, and they may be too powerful for a low-level character.

Reaching the gate

Use Planeshift and Shadowstep to climb the rocky wall. At the top, follow the trail as snow begins to fall. The path eventually reaches an open gate.

Coen will consider whether to enter, but the decision belongs to you. Choose to leave Vale Sangora and you will not return. This unlocks the achievement or trophy for completing The Blood of Dawnwalker without defeating a boss, apart from the boss encountered at the end of the prologue.

The credits then play, followed by a post-credits scene previously shown during The Game Awards 2025.

What the post-credits scene means

The scene jumps to the modern day. Coen is bleeding heavily while sitting on a chair when a delivery driver arrives. A box is pushed across the floor towards him. Inside is a blood bag, which Coen drinks to recover before standing and confronting a dark, floating figure near the window.

The identity of the figure is not established here. Rebel Wolves has described the game as the opening chapter of a wider saga, with later instalments planned to explore different historical periods and cultures.

That direction suggests the Dawnwalkers may continue into the modern era in a way comparable to the enduring modern-day presence of Abstergo and the Templars in the Assassin’s Creed series. Coen appears positioned to remain part of the wider story, although it is unknown whether the present-day setting will feature in the next game or a later release.
