Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will launch on 8 April 2027, but Square Enix has confirmed that the third chapter of the Remake trilogy will continue with two additional story expansions.

The two planned DLC episodes will focus on Sephiroth and Vincent Valentine. The announcement came through the game’s edition and pre-order details following a State of Play presentation.
Two story expansions are planned
A Premium Edition of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will include the base game and a Story Expansion Pass. The pass is made up of two episodes currently titled Story DLC 1: Sephiroth and Story DLC 2: Vincent & the Turks.
Square Enix says both expansions are scheduled to arrive between winter 2027 and spring 2028. Each DLC episode will also be sold separately, although pricing has not yet been announced. More details are available in the Square Enix press release.

What the Revelation DLC could explore
The Remake project has previously received one major story expansion: Episode INTERmission. That Yuffie-led chapter arrived nearly a year after Final Fantasy 7 Remake and followed the young ninja’s original adventures in Midgar before she joined Cloud and the wider group.
Sephiroth and Vincent both have substantial histories across the broader Final Fantasy 7 universe. That makes previously unseen events and character perspectives a more likely direction than a straightforward retelling of familiar material.
Director Naoki Hamaguchi said earlier this year that potential DLC would probably examine characters’ “untold stories”. Episode INTERmission’s main campaign took about six hours to complete, which may offer a rough indication of the scale fans could expect from the new episodes. However, Square Enix has not confirmed their length.
Some players may have hoped for a new version of the cult Vincent spin-off Dirge of Cerberus, but the announced plans instead centre on original stories for Sephiroth and Vincent. The Vincent episode will also feature the Turks, though specific plot details remain unannounced.
Release platforms and date
Final Fantasy 7 Revelation is scheduled for 8 April 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X. The game will be released in physical and digital formats.
