A remarkably thorough Grand Theft Auto 6 fan believes they have identified the real Miami building that inspired Jason and Lucia’s apartment. The discovery is especially impressive because the property was demolished sometime in 2023.
As GameRant reported, the research came from Instagram user prettyboycuh. On August 28, around a day after Rockstar Games showed the apartment in its Official Extended Gameplay reveal, the fan posted this video explaining the investigation.

The proposed match is striking. The building has a similar muted pink exterior and parking area to the apartment shown in the gameplay footage. Across the road sits a near-identical light-blue building resembling the Quantum on the Bay Condominium on Bayshore Drive in Miami, Florida.
The key to the discovery was historical imagery. Because the suspected apartment building no longer stands, prettyboycuh used Google Maps imagery and went back to 2013 to locate photographs of the demolished property.
The fan explained that the year was not chosen at random: Rockstar Games had begun developing the game in 2013. That connection provided a plausible reason to search for locations that existed at the time, even if they have since disappeared.
There is a limitation to the theory. Following Jason’s driving route from the apartment and attempting to trace it on Google Maps reveals differences in the surrounding roads.
Those discrepancies are not necessarily a problem. Rockstar has compressed and rearranged parts of Miami to create a practical game map, so the real-world road layout was always likely to be adapted rather than reproduced exactly.
Even with that creative reshaping, the building, colour scheme and neighbouring condominium make the identification convincing. Unfortunately, fans cannot visit the original apartment today. The site is now an empty block of land, although its connection to GTA 6 might give the location a new kind of cultural significance.
