Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest now has a confirmed release date. Trailmark Games’ turn-based RPG will launch on 23 October for players in Australia and worldwide.

The release news arrived with a new trailer on Trailmark Games’ official YouTube channel. The developer and Coolabi Group first revealed the project in August, presenting it as the first video game set in the Warrior Cats universe.

That makes for a relatively short wait between announcement and launch, with the game scheduled to arrive less than three months after its initial reveal. Fans looking for more gaming news can follow RETROCADE for further updates.
What to expect from Clans of the Forest
Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest tells an original story featuring both new characters and familiar faces from the books. Players create their own cat and select one of four clans, with each clan offering its own campaign.
The structure has been compared with the branching campaigns of Fire Emblem: Three Houses, while battles use a turn-based system. Outside combat, players will also take part in hunting and crafting.
- Four clans: choose a clan with its own campaign.
- Character customisation: create a playable cat.
- Turn-based combat: plan attacks and actions carefully.
- Defender mode: take on a boss-rush challenge.
- Skirmish mode: compete through asynchronous multiplayer.

A long-running book series moves into games
Victoria Holmes originally created the Warrior Cats series for publisher HarperCollins. The first novel, Into the Wild, was published in 2003. The franchise has since expanded to more than 50 mainline books, along with numerous spin-offs, written by a group of authors using the collective pen name Erin Hunter.
Clans of the Forest is not the only Warrior Cats adaptation in development. Coolabi Group and Tencent Video are working on an animated series, which is scheduled for release in 2028. Disney announced the series pickup for distribution in June.

Platforms and launch date
Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest launches on 23 October for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X.
