Cyberpunk 2077 leaves Xbox Game Pass on 15 September

Cyberpunk 2077 will leave Xbox Game Pass on 15 September 2026, alongside nine other games. Microsoft has announced the first September removal wave, giving subscribers a limited window to continue playing CD Projekt Red’s sci-fi role-playing game through the service.

The game joined Game Pass in March, meaning its run on the subscription service will last roughly six months. It arrives at an interesting time for the franchise: a sequel is still a long way off, while the second season of the acclaimed Edgerunners anime is scheduled to release exclusively on Netflix on 20 October.

That anime release could bring fresh attention to Cyberpunk 2077, making the Game Pass departure particularly notable. Last month, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt also left the service, ahead of the upcoming remaster scheduled for 29 September.

Notable removals and new additions

Dead Cells is another major departure. The 2018 roguelike Metroidvania remains a standout example of its genre, and developer Evil Empire’s next project, Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse, is due on 15 October.

Spiritfarer is also worth prioritising before it disappears from the catalogue. Its story follows a ferry operator helping recently deceased characters journey to the afterlife, giving the indie adventure a notably emotional focus.

Game Pass will receive seven new titles in the same period. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War arrives on 8 September, followed by Shelldiver, Speedrunners 2: King of Speed, The Royal Writ, Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage and RuneScape: Dragonwilds.
