Mega Evolution — Delta Reign is the next major expansion for The Pokémon Trading Card Game, bringing Mega Rayquaza back to the physical card game on 6 November.
The Pokémon Company has officially announced the set’s details. First revealed in June, Delta Reign will contain more than 135 cards and centre on the return of one of the franchise’s most recognisable Legendary Pokémon.
Mega Rayquaza leads Delta Reign
Mega Rayquaza has not appeared in a Pokémon TCG expansion since XY — Ancient Origins in 2015. Its return headlines a collection that also introduces Mega Evolution cards for Golurk, Malamar and Golisopod.
The full set breakdown includes four Mega Evolution Pokémon ex, six Pokémon ex, six Stadium cards representing three Legendary Stadiums, 14 illustration rare Pokémon, 17 ultra rare Pokémon and Trainer cards, plus six special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards. One card will feature an embroidered illustration from artist Tayu.
How Legendary Stadiums work
Delta Reign introduces Legendary Stadiums as a new card feature. Each one is made by combining two Stadium cards. Placed beside each other, the matching cards create a single extended piece of artwork, with both halves included in booster packs that contain a Legendary Stadium.

Delta Reign release dates
Pre-orders were not open when the announcement was published. Players will nevertheless get an early chance to try the cards at participating retailer pre-release tournaments from 24 October.
The digital version arrives in Pokémon TCG Live on 5 November, one day before the physical expansion launches on 6 November.

Rayquaza’s wider Pokémon TCG return
Delta Reign follows another Rayquaza-focused release in the digital card game. In July, Pokémon TCG Pocket added the Ruler of the Skies expansion, which also features the Legendary Pokémon.
Rayquaza was introduced in the third-generation games Pokémon Ruby, Pokémon Emerald and Pokémon Sapphire. Those games remain highly regarded more than two decades later. Nintendo remade Ruby and Sapphire for 3DS in 2014, but neither the originals nor those remakes are available on modern platforms.
