Edge of Tomorrow Finds a New Netflix Audience

Tom Cruise’s 2014 science-fiction action film is attracting fresh attention on Netflix, more than a decade after its cinema release.

Tom Cruise has spent decades moving between dramas, thrillers and major action productions. His credits include The Outsiders, A Few Good Men and War of the Worlds, while his reputation for performing demanding stunts has become a defining part of his modern screen career. Could a sequel still happen?

Edge of Tomorrow has developed a strong critical standing, including a 91 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes. Even so, a follow-up has not been made in the 12 years since the original film arrived.

Director Doug Liman and Blunt have spoken over the years about wanting to continue the story. Cruise signed a development agreement with Warner Bros. in 2024, and the studio and actor were reported to have discussed a possible sequel. No further development is confirmed in the supplied material.
