Marvel Tokon files hint at a bigger roster
Data found in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls may have revealed several characters planned for future downloadable content. X0XLeak posted on X that the game’s files mention Doctor Strange, Wasp, Gambit, The Thing and Daredevil.

A separate image shared online appears to include references to the remaining members of the Fantastic Four: Mr. Fantastic, Human Torch and Invisible Woman. None of these names has been confirmed as a playable character.

Potential stages include Klyntar and Japan
The same datamine reportedly contains references to Klyntar, the symbiote planet, as well as the Sanctum Sanctorum and Japan. These may be possible stages rather than character-related assets.

Klyntar could connect with Venom or Carnage, with Venom already part of the roster. The Sanctum Sanctorum would naturally suit Doctor Strange, while a Japan-themed setting could tie into Peni Parker, Psylocke or another Japanese character. Psylocke’s background varies between continuities; in some versions, she is British rather than Japanese.
Daredevil and the Fantastic Four attract attention
Among the names circulating, Daredevil appears to have attracted the strongest positive response. The character has not previously appeared in a major fighting game, and fans have pointed out that Matt Murdock is visible in the background of Tokon’s New York stage.

The Fantastic Four have also prompted plenty of discussion. Because the game is built around teams of four, fans have speculated that the group could arrive consecutively during one of the game’s year-long seasons.
Gambit’s possible inclusion would follow renewed interest in the character through X-Men ’97, Marvel Rivals and his appearance in Deadpool and Wolverine. Wasp is a less predictable possibility, particularly because very small fighters can create unusual design and gameplay challenges.
Leaks are not release confirmations
File references should be treated cautiously. A character can appear in development data without reaching the finished game, and even confirmed plans may take years to materialise. A similar situation occurred with Guilty Gear Strive: data suggested Jam Kuradoberi could be added, but she did not debut until five years after launch.

Phoenix Cyclops leads the first DLC season
The first downloadable character has already been announced as Phoenix Cyclops. A Marvel Tokon post describes Scott Summers as bringing devastating optic blasts, close-range pressure and the Phoenix Force to the game in autumn.
He is the first of four characters planned for the game’s initial year, which will also include a new stage. Some fans believe a recent tie-in comic may have identified the other three seasonal additions as Silver Surfer, Nova and Thor.

Arc System Works continues to tune the fighter
Marvel Tokon had a difficult start, but Arc System Works has released a PC patch addressing some performance problems. Reports of ongoing issues remain, although the update marks progress.

The underlying fighting system has also begun winning over experienced players who initially considered it too simple or too slow. The game has the second-highest number of registrants for this weekend’s major fighting-game tournament, CEO, where it is set to make its competitive debut in earnest.
