Fields of Mistria gives bug catching several useful roles. Bugs contribute to villager requests and museum completion, while terrariums and apiaries can use them to produce bug pheromones and honey. They can also be sold, although they cannot be cooked like fish.
This guide covers every bug, including its location, season, weather and available time. The list includes additions from version 0.15; version 1.0 did not add any new bugs.

How to catch bugs in Fields of Mistria
Bugs do not have a dedicated skill level or skill tree. Some species are limited to particular times, so plan your search around the following windows:
- Morning: 6 am to 11 am
- Day: 6 am to 8 pm
- Night: 8 pm to 2 am
Several underground species appear inside rocks. Use your pickaxe to break the rocks and reveal them. Leaving and re-entering a map can also refresh bug spawns, which is useful when you are targeting one particular entry.
For bugs found away from the mines, setting the display’s in-game scale to 1x makes most of the farm visible at once. If the species can appear there, enter and leave the house to reset spawns quickly.
