Spider-Man: Brand New Day has reportedly earned an estimated $355 million at the box office, giving fans a fresh reason to return to the character’s recent games. Spider-Man games draw new players
Following the film’s release, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 each recorded their strongest concurrent Steam player totals in more than a year. Native PlayStation figures have not been made public, although the PC activity suggests renewed interest across the series.
Search interest is moving in the same direction. Queries including “new Spider-Man game” and “Spider-Man Brand New Day game” have risen sharply, with searches for the latter increasing by 40 per cent.
No dedicated movie game, but Spider-Man 2 gets the spotlight
There is no separate game released specifically alongside the new film. However, a recent update for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 lets players wear the hero’s latest suit, providing a direct connection for fans arriving from the cinema.
The timing is also helped by discounts across the major modern Spider-Man releases, covering both digital and physical copies. The latest game is available at a 58% discount on the PlayStation Store, its lowest price in several months. Physical discs are also being offered by major retailers at substantial summer discounts, which may appeal to players concerned about PlayStation’s expected move away from physical games in 2028.
