Nintendo’s upcoming remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has not received a confirmed release date, but fans have assembled a convincing November theory. The speculation centres on Nintendo’s amiibo launch patterns—and a potentially dramatic release-window clash with Grand Theft Auto VI.

Why amiibo dates matter

In recent years, Nintendo has often launched new amiibo alongside a first-party game, apparently helping streamline shipping. The figures and the game do not necessarily share a franchise, and amiibo dates have sometimes appeared before Nintendo announces the accompanying software.

Fans noticed this pattern back in March, when a July 2 release date appeared for the King Dedede amiibo. Nintendo later confirmed that Rhythm Heaven would launch on that date, showing how a figure listing can provide an early clue without identifying the game involved.

A possible November 12 Nintendo release

According to the Nintendo UK Store, the Sword Kirby & Dragoon and Noir Dedede & Hydra Kirby Air Riders amiibo will be releasing on November 11th. An official announcement hasn’t been made by Nintendo yet, but it looks like news will be dropping soon!

The latest clue came from European Nintendo store listings spotted by a Reddit user. The listings reportedly placed the Sword Kirby and Dragoon, plus Noir Dedede and Hydra, amiibo on November 11. That date fell on a Wednesday, which would be an unusual day for a major game launch.

Changing the system clock on the device reportedly adjusted the UK store date to November 12. This is not confirmation that the Ocarina of Time remake will release then, but it does suggest that Nintendo may have a first-party title scheduled for that day. The listings were spotted in European Nintendo store listings, while the amiibo information was also shared publicly on July 30, 2026.

Could Ocarina of Time face GTA 6?

November 12 would be exactly one week before Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19. That creates two possibilities: Nintendo could be positioning one of its most celebrated adventures against what is expected to be one of the largest game launches ever, or another first-party title could be assigned to that difficult release window.

The timing would be especially notable because GTA VI is not planned for Switch 2. Nintendo’s current-generation console would therefore have a major release opportunity for players who do not own a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S. By contrast, Switch owners who also have one of those consoles may understandably focus their attention elsewhere when Rockstar’s game arrives.

What the evidence really tells us

The amiibo pattern makes November 12 a plausible date for an unannounced Nintendo release, but it does not identify that game as the Ocarina of Time remake. Until Nintendo confirms the schedule, the remake’s position in the November calendar remains speculation.
