Spooky Pinball has unveiled a new machine based on the classic Scooby-Doo! animated series. Rather than drawing from recent Warner Bros. productions, the game takes its inspiration from the original 1969–70 cartoon familiar to generations of fans.
Classic Scooby-Doo comes to pinball
The reveal trailer presents the cabinet and playfield, although it does not identify the specific edition shown. Spooky Pinball has announced three versions, and the footage appears likely to represent the most fully equipped Collectors Edition.
Among the listed features, the dual apron locks stand out as an unusual detail. The machine also includes performances from Frank Welker, Mathew Lillard, Kate Micucci and Grey Griffin. Each actor has contributed to the Scooby-Doo! franchise, with Welker having played Fred in the original series.

Spooky Pinball has listed the following editions and prices:

- Blood Sucker Edition: $8796

Production is limited to 1,969 units. Orders were scheduled to open on Friday at 10:00 am CST through the Spooky Pinball order shop.
A collector’s piece or an operator’s investment?
The presentation suggests an entertaining game, but the real verdict will depend on how the finished machine plays. Its limited run and recognisable licence could make it attractive to collectors. For commercial operators, however, the prices create a more difficult calculation: a high-cost pinball machine can take several years to recover its purchase price.
The playfield appears more compelling than the design of 007 from a location-owner perspective, making Scooby-Doo! Where Are You? the more appealing choice between the two for an operator considering a new pinball purchase.

Could another cult licence follow?
The project also renews interest in a possible Mystery Science Theater 3000 pinball machine. Spooky Pinball worked on a concept several years ago, but the project was developed before the company had established itself and did not progress. Trace Beaulieu, known as the original Dr. Forrester and the first voice of Crow T. Robot, had been willing to participate, while performers associated with RiffTrax or the modern MST3K production could also be natural candidates.
Scooby-Doo! Where Are You? combines a limited production run, familiar characters and multiple collector-focused editions. Whether it becomes a strong location game will ultimately depend on its rules, flow and long-term replay value.
