Stern Pinball has announced Foo Fighters, a music-themed machine created by Jack Danger of Dead Flip Pinball Streaming. Stern All-Access Insiders can now begin ordering the Limited Edition model, with the game joining the company’s current range of pinball machines for home play and commercial locations.
The new machine has been developed as an interactive Foo Fighters concert experience, combining the band’s music with an original science-fiction adventure. Stern has also published the official product page for it on their site, including model imagery and a game trailer.

As with Stern’s other recent releases, Foo Fighters is available in Pro, Premium and Limited Edition versions. The Pro model has a starting MSRP of $6,999. Stern has also released a detailed Features Matrix [PDF] outlining the differences between the three editions.
A rock tour through an alien invasion
The theme draws on the term “foo fighter”, which originated during the Second World War in connection with unexplained UFO sightings. In the game’s story, the band must defend rock and roll and humanity from an alien Overlord and an army of robots.
Players can explore the Area 51 upper playfield, unleash pinball chaos and take to the road in the band’s van. The fictional animated series Foo Fighters Saturday Morning Action Time! expands the story with hand-drawn artwork and custom animations.
