Two arcade releases are moving into focus: Batsugun EXA LABEL is scheduled to ship on 16 June 2023, while Pump It Up 2023 Phoenix has been given an August release window.
Batsugun EXA LABEL expands a Toaplan shooter
Batsugun EXA LABEL updates Toaplan’s 1993 JAMMA bullet-hell shooter with corrected bugs and one frame of input lag in the original arcade version. The package also includes Special, Special (Dash), EXA LABEL and EXA LABEL EXTREME modes.
Players receive three soundtrack arrangements, one based on the Sega Saturn port’s music, as well as six new character voices. The result is a broader version of the classic shooter designed for modern exA-Arcadia locations and collectors.
Two software kits are available. The limited edition comes with a variety of art pieces intended to appeal to both collectors and arcade operators.
First-print limited-edition kits include Junya “Joker Jun” Inoue’s autograph. Each also contains six 1800mm banners featuring character artwork by Inoue and other designs. Japanese distributors are already promoting the release, and Red Sun Systems in Europe is carrying the game.

Pump It Up 2023 Phoenix targets August
Andamiro’s promotional image confirms an August release for Pump It Up 2023 Phoenix, although it does not provide a specific day. The announcement also states that the online services for Pump It Up XX, the current version, will end in December.
An upgrade kit for existing Pump It Up XX cabinets appears possible, but no confirmation or technical details had been provided at the time. Operators will need to wait for further information about Phoenix hardware, upgrades and service arrangements.
The two announcements cover very different arcade experiences: Batsugun EXA LABEL adds new modes and presentation features to a classic shooter, while Phoenix advances the long-running dance series as Pump It Up XX approaches the end of its online service.
