The 2023 International Bowl Expo event gives arcade manufacturers another opportunity to present their latest games. Some products were already shown at IAAPA 2022 or Amusement Expo 2023, while others are making their first appearance at this show.
This preview covers the expected line-up, including redemption machines, videmption titles, virtual reality attractions, cranes, kiddie rides and other amusement equipment. Featured manufacturers and expected releases
Touch Magix
Following its award-winning Carnival Cups Crane, Touch Magix is bringing two games: Pop It! and Magix Pool.
Magix Pool reflects the company’s earlier work in projection mapping. Its first coin-operated arcade game, Magix Floor, asked players to stomp on projected images; the new title applies a similar idea to a pool-themed game.
Pop It! brings the popular fidget-toy concept into an arcade redemption format. The ball-drop videmption game works somewhat like a crane machine, but players use a light-based target to judge where the ball is most likely to land before pressing the Ball Drop button.
Raw Thrills and Betson
Raw Thrills and Betson are expected at the show, although no newly announced debut was identified for Bowl Expo. Fast & Furious Arcade debuted at the event the previous year, while the expected current line-up includes MotoGP VR, scheduled to launch the following month, along with Minecraft Arcade S2, Halo: Fireteam Raven and King Kong VR.
The other two event sponsors are not exhibiting.
Other amusement exhibitors
Many companies that regularly attend IAAPA or Amusement Expo do not exhibit at Bowl Expo. The complete exhibitor information is available in this list.
Andamiro USA
Andamiro’s presentation was expected to resemble its Amusement Expo line-up, with SpongeBob VR Bubble Coaster, additional SpongeBob redemption games and Tic Shaq Toe. Pump It Up 2023 Phoenix was considered unlikely to appear.
Bay Tek Entertainment
Without a specific Bowl Expo announcement from Bay Tek, its established attractions were the safest expectation. These included Rock The Rim, Skeeball products, Axe Master and Big Ticket Drop, potentially joined by the 2023 editions of Big Bass Wheel and Ticket Monster.
Coastal Amusements
Coastal Amusements was expected to debut the videmption light-gun game Bullseye: Crack Shot. The company had previously passed on Bumper and Bridge Man, with Bumper regarded as a particularly notable omission.
If its booth followed the Amusement Expo format, visitors could also expect videmption and redemption games such as Real Heroes: Fire Rescue, Galaxy Rangers and Break The Plate.
Elaut Group
Elaut USA, Coast To Coast Entertainment and Benchmark Games form the Elaut Group. Their expected presentation was centred on crane and redemption products shown at earlier events, including a non-water version of Real Heroes: Fire Rescue.
ICE
Although ICE had several developments underway, no new Bowl Expo debut had been confirmed. Its display was therefore expected to resemble the Amusement Expo offering, with newer products such as Ship Wreck and World Football Pro receiving attention.
Inowize
Inowize was set to present its QBIX Mixed Reality gaming room, alongside the two-player Arkadia VR model.
JET Games
JET Games has been bringing more videmption products from China to its range. It might therefore have shown a title previously seen at an international exhibition, while redemption games and kiddie rides were also expected.
Komuse USA
Komuse USA was expected to follow its Amusement Expo presentation, placing greater emphasis on Air Slide, a new game shown at AE23, supported by a broader selection of redemption products.
LAI Games
Although Asphalt 9 Legends Arcade VR had appeared at IAAPA 2022, Bowl Expo represented its launch for LAI Games. Other in-production titles expected alongside it included Rick & Morty, FGTeeV and Virtual Rabbids.
Sega Amusements
Sega Amusements was expected to present a booth similar to its Amusement Expo display, featuring Bop It!, Jumanji, VR Agent and Drone Racing Genesis. Hyper Cross was testing in the United States, but its absence from the company’s press release made a Bowl Expo appearance unlikely. IAAPA was considered the more probable venue.
Team Play Inc.
Team Play had no newly announced product for the event. Its promotional focus remained Carnival Wheel and the Photo Motion photo-booth kiddie ride.
Trio-Tech
At smaller trade shows, Trio-Tech generally concentrates on arcade products rather than its larger theme-park attractions. Its expected display included Typhoon 10th Anniversary and Storm VR, with the latter also receiving a new ride film.
UNIS
UNIS was preparing to launch Emoji Frenzy, a redemption and videmption game built around its Emoji licence. It is the third game in the series, following Emoji Roller and Emoji Party.
The machine is more than a ticket game: it also dispenses an Emoji stress ball. During play, participants collect each Emoji three times to enter a bonus round, where moving Emojis are worth 10 tickets each. The playfield can also award instant bonuses, including tickets and an automatic Emoji ball dispense. Players reach that feature by hitting the “level up” Emojis.
VR and related amusement equipment
Hero Zone VR, Hologate, Rilix and VRsenal were all expected to attend, although no previously unseen products had been identified for their displays. New announcements were still possible.
Other exhibitors sat alongside the video arcade sector, including IGPM Group with boxing machines and air hockey tables, Pixel Games with its Light Floor, and Valley-Dynamo with air hockey and foosball tables.
