Stern Pinball has previewed its next game, Venom, in the latest edition of its “Stern of the Union” address. The machine is based on the Marvel character from the Spider-Man comic books.

Venom pinball details

Brian Eddy and Dwight Sullivan are designing the game, while Zombie Yeti is responsible for the artwork. Stern says that only a very small number of Venom LE machines will be available to order next week, and purchases will be restricted to All-Access members.

Distributor posts circulating ahead of the formal announcement list indicative pricing of $6,999 for Pro, $9,499 for Premium and $12,999 for LE. Those figures have not been presented as a full official product announcement in the available material.

The same distributor information suggests that Pro machines could begin shipping in the following month, with Premium models expected in September and LE machines scheduled for September or October.

A long-running Marvel rumour

Venom has appeared in speculation for more than a year. When Stern revealed James Bond 007, many observers expected the announcement to be for Venom instead. The character also continues Stern’s history of producing games based on Spider-Man and other Marvel properties.

Details remain limited until the full reveal arrives next week. For more news about new releases and the wider arcade industry, visit the RETROCADE Arcade Blog.

What to consider for a pinball setup

While Venom is a physical pinball machine rather than a video arcade cabinet, buyers comparing formats can also explore virtual pinball machines. RETROCADE’s arcade machine buying guide may also help with planning space, budgets and installation for a home game room.
