Alan-1 Inc. has opened pre-orders for its upcoming Asteroids Recharged cabinets, along with coin-operated versions of Avian Knights. The move is notable in a market where arcade-game pre-orders remain relatively uncommon.

Asteroids Recharged reaches the arcade
Alan-1 is developing the new Asteroids arcade release in partnership with Atari. Although the team received the source code only six weeks before Amusement Expo 2024, it had two working cabinets ready for visitors at the event.
The game is still in development. Planned work includes further changes and enhancements, as well as integration with Alan-1’s Major League eSports Arcade app.
The next footage shows the three-player version in operation rather than providing a complete overview of every planned feature.
Asteroids Recharged pre-order details
Prototype cabinet; the final design is subject to change, including the possible use of a monitor bezel.
Alan-1 is asking for a $1,000 deposit on either Asteroids Recharged model. The deposit is applied to the purchase price but is non-refundable.
- 2-player pre-order: $6,499 plus freight
- 3-player pre-order: $12,999 plus freight
The stated shipping target is Q3 2024. At the time of the announcement, the game had not been reported as tested in arcades, making the early pre-order window an interesting proposition for operators and collectors. Alan-1 had also reported interest from larger chains considering investment, but confirmed demand ultimately depends on customers placing deposits.
Avian Knights pre-orders
Pre-order pages are also available for Avian Knights. Buyers can choose the standard 2-player cabinet or the four-player deluxe model, listed as the 4-player AK. The source material states that pricing is the same for both versions.
