Wahlap showcased several new arcade projects at the AAA 2024 Expo, spanning light-gun action, augmented reality, cooperative card collecting and motion racing. Some displays could not be photographed or filmed, but updated product pages now reveal the cabinet designs.
Here is a closer look at the four notable machines presented at the event, including the details currently available for Australian operators and arcade fans.
Monster Eye 3
Monster Eye 3 was one of the titles covered by the expo’s photography restrictions. Its published cabinet artwork shows a game built with Unreal Engine, using gun controllers styled after chain guns and accented with animated blue LEDs.
The pyramids displayed on the marquee suggest an Egyptian setting. The scene visible in the cabinet render also appears to show a stage beside the Nile, although the available material does not explain the wider story or game structure.
The promotional artwork also reveals a small branding change. IGS appears to have subtly revised its logo, which had remained essentially unchanged since the 1990s.
Kamen Rider: Transformation of Justice
The English title is an approximate translation, but the concept is straightforward. This augmented-reality experience uses the Japanese Kamen Rider licence to turn players into a chosen Masked Rider on screen before sending them into battles against villains.
Players stand in front of a 65-inch 4K display, while the cabinet’s integrated photo printer provides a physical memento of the transformation. The large-format machine has a distinctive appearance; Wahlap’s product page presents a rad looking cabinet.
The accompanying flyer is in Chinese. That may point to an initial focus on the domestic market, although licensing and distribution arrangements will determine whether the game appears in other regions.
Kingdoms Fantasy
Kingdoms Fantasy is Wahlap’s own four-player hack-and-slash arcade game. Its format follows the broad model of Minecraft Dungeons Arcade, combining individual joysticks, cooperative play and collectible cards.
The listed hardware includes a 65-inch 4K monitor, while the card system offers almost 80 cards to collect. An online feature uses WeChat or IC card login to record player progress. The product information also refers to anti-counterfeit measures, though it is not clear whether these protect registered accounts, the cards, or both.
A promotional video was also prepared for the game. Its combination of team-based play and card collecting gives it a social format that could suit venues seeking a multiplayer attraction.
NFS Heat Takedown: Asia Version
NFS Heat Takedown was present in an Asia-focused version. This is not a brand-new game, but Adrenaline’s racer is now landing in China with an adjusted cabinet.
The machine uses a 49-inch monitor, a wide LED matrix marquee that extends beyond the display and a different seat mounted on the motion base. These changes give the Asia edition its own physical presentation.
