LAI Games has confirmed the arcade launch of Smash DX, a fantasy off-road combat racer originally developed in China as Extreme Offroad. Earlier reports suggested the game arrived in March, but that timing was incorrect.
What is Smash DX?
Superwing developed the game before working with LAI Games on its localisation. Rather than featuring licensed supercars, Smash DX puts players behind the wheel for off-road battles in a fictional setting. It joins Asphalt 9 Legends Arcade in LAI Games’ expanding range of arcade racing titles.
The game was revealed shortly before Amusement Expo ’24 and subsequently appeared at several trade shows. At the time of reporting, there had not been confirmed photographs of a public test location. It is now available for venues to order.
Smash DX cabinet and linking
The available information does not confirm whether the software or hardware has changed since the trade-show video, although any revisions appear to have been limited. Operators can connect up to four cabinets for multiplayer racing and combat.
A non-motion cabinet may potentially be offered in future, but that version has not been confirmed. Pricing has also not been published; interested operators should contact their distributor for a quotation.
