Golden Tee has always occupied an unusual place in the arcade market. Although the series is built for commercial play, its familiar trackball controls and competitive golf have made it a popular choice for home game rooms as well. Home sales of Golden Tee and Pac-Man cabinets have previously represented a substantial share of arcade-machine business.
After the commercial release of Golden Tee PGA TOUR 2025, Incredible Technologies has now brought the new edition to residential players. The update marks 35 years of arcade golf and adds new courses, modes and seasonal content.
What is included in the Golden Tee PGA TOUR 2025 Home Edition?
Incredible Technologies has produced dedicated home versions of Golden Tee since at least 2007, and possibly earlier. The major historical distinction was online play: commercial machines could support cash-prize tournaments, so their online features were separated from home systems. That software divide has since been removed. The current difference is hardware-related, with home machines not accepting money.
Home buyers can choose the Clubhouse Edition in either a standard pedestal or deluxe cabinet format. There is also Golden Tee GO, a tabletop, plug-and-play-style system with a trackball controller. Golden Tee GO is designed specifically for residential use, though it sits at a higher price point than a conventional plug-and-play console.
The launch includes seven new courses. Bahama Isles, Basin Lake, Lexington Stables, Palmetto Coast and Sahara Dunes join the line-up, while two real-world PGA TOUR venues add an extra challenge. TPC San Antonio is available at launch, with TPC River Highlands scheduled for 20 January.
Closest-to-the-Pin LIVE also returns to Online Play, where it is exclusive to PGA TOUR games. Early in 2025, Bear Lodge, Pine Coast and Rocky Hollow will receive re-teed versions with seasonal pin and tee layouts.
New modes and ongoing content
GT Tour Mode is planned as a months-long competition in which players from across the country battle for points and cash prizes. Random Round offers a different kind of test, selecting 18 holes at random from a library of more than 100 Golden Tee courses.
Players can also expect three new Club Pass reward seasons, three seasons of fresh pins and tees, plus new clubs, balls and player achievements released over time. The aim is to retain the established Golden Tee format while giving regular players new reasons to return.
Updating an existing home cabinet
The downloadable Golden Tee PGA TOUR Home Edition update is available, while updates for Golden Tee LIVE Home Edition machines are also being shipped. Owners of an eligible GT Home model can use the PGA TOUR cabinet update page to request the upgrade.
For Australian buyers comparing formats, the full-size cabinet options are the Deluxe and Standard versions.
