Several new arcade releases are moving closer to operators, while exA-Arcadia has already begun shipping its first major title of 2025. Here is the latest update on upcoming shooters and Cambria Sword: Another Cry AC.
GoldStorm Pirates and Carnival Shot targeted for April
Shipping information passed on through a Betson representative indicates that Bandai Namco Amusements’ GoldStorm Pirates and UNIS’ Carnival Shot are both expected to ship in April.
The outlook is less definite for UNIS titles Neon Rush and Dino Storm. Neither appeared on the latest UNIS release list provided to the representative, although a recent video for Dino Storm suggests that its arrival could still be approaching.
If those April estimates hold, Alpha Ops VR Strike could join them. Its previously stated earliest timeframe was April, so the month may become particularly busy for new shooting games.
These schedules remain subject to production changes. Official confirmation has been difficult to obtain: enquiries to Bandai Namco and UNIS by email and phone have been ongoing since December without a response.
Cambria Sword: Another Cry AC begins shipping
exA-Arcadia has started its next release cycle with Cambria Sword: Another Cry AC. The company is aiming to ship almost a dozen games by the second quarter of 2025, with this shooter leading the programme.
Rather than simply remastering the original, exA-Arcadia redesigned the game as a sequel tailored for arcade play. Its campaign is much shorter than the original four-hour completion length, while branching routes inspired by Darius give each session a different selection from a pool of pre-designed levels.
The game runs with one frame of input lag and features a heavy metal soundtrack. Players can select from six ships and 72 weapons, with 12 weapons available at any one time. Across the game are 80 bosses and multiple endings, creating considerable scope for repeat play.
Its visual identity also breaks from the usual space-battle formula. Characters and enemies draw on creatures from the Cambrian Period, long before dinosaurs and most plants appeared on Earth. Bright colours and abundant 2D sprites complete the distinctive presentation.
Cambria Sword: Another Cry AC is supplied as a standard exA kit and is available through exA distributors in multiple regions. Arcade operators considering new shooting titles can also explore arcade machines, review the arcade machine buying guide, or browse suitable arcade parts for future installations.
