DSM Arcade has started shipping Perfect Pour, its first original arcade game after earlier releases including Switch ‘N Shoot and Nidhogg II. The developer is also working with Alan-1 on Soda Slam!, a family-focused variation built around soft drinks.

Perfect Pour cabinets are now shipping

Perfect Pour turns the pressure of a busy bar shift into a quick-fire arcade challenge. Players manage four taps while customers bring forward glasses that must be filled with precision.

Pull the wrong amount and the order goes wrong: too little requires another attempt, while overfilling tips the glass and forces a restart. The best result is a Perfect Pour, filling the glass exactly to the brim. Consecutive successful pours award bonus points, giving the game an easy-to-understand premise with plenty of room to improve.

The format has proved suitable for bar environments. Several arcade-bar venues have been running the game, including one location that reported earnings of more than $160 per week while charging a single quarter per play. It has also been installed in regular bars, where it has reportedly performed well.

People who ordered during the pre-order period can expect their machines soon, with cabinets now coming off the assembly line. New orders are still being accepted through the Perfect Pour order page, and buyers should face a shorter wait than earlier customers. The machine is priced at under $5,000, placing it among the more affordable new arcade releases.

For operators and home buyers assessing a new cabinet, RETROCADE’s arcade machine buying guide offers practical points to consider before committing to a purchase.

DSM Arcade and Alan-1 introduce Soda Slam!

While the original game suits bars, family entertainment centres need a more broadly appropriate theme. DSM Arcade and Alan-1 are adapting the pouring concept for that setting with Soda Slam!, which replaces alcoholic drinks with soft drinks.

Alan-1 is the developer behind Asteroids Recharged Arcade and the upcoming Missile Command Recharged. Both of those titles are exclusive to arcades.

The current cabinet image is a work in progress but is close to the intended production design. Unlike Perfect Pour, Soda Slam! uses new joystick taps, with dynamic RGB lighting running through the tap tubes. Final dimensions have not yet been confirmed, although the cabinet is clearly intended for family entertainment centre installations.

The core pouring mechanic remains, joined by enhanced HD graphics, more customers and a redemption mode designed for FECs. The dedicated cabinet includes two large fibreglass soda cans, a 75-inch 4K screen, two player stations, new joystick taps and bright artwork.

The cabinet is scheduled to debut at Amusement Expo 2025. More details about its Amusement Expo 2025 debut should follow when the finished machine is shown.

Two pouring games aimed at different venues

Perfect Pour concentrates on accurate serving, repeat scoring and bar play, whereas Soda Slam! expands the same idea for a family audience and redemption environments. Operators comparing new cabinets can browse RETROCADE’s arcade machine collection or explore upright arcade cabinets.

For venues planning maintenance or future upgrades, RETROCADE also covers arcade repairs and servicing.
