LAI Games is preparing to reveal Cyberpunk 2077: Turf Wars, an arcade adaptation of CD Projekt Red’s futuristic action series, at Amusement Expo 2025 in Las Vegas. The game was first mentioned around IAAPA 2024 as a new type of mixed-reality, or MXR, attraction, but it did not appear at that event.
The previously undisclosed project is now expected to make its public debut on March 19 and 20, 2025. It remains a work in progress, so the cabinet, features and gameplay may change before any commercial release.
Cyberpunk 2077: Turf Wars cabinet
Rather than adapting Cyberpunk 2077 as a conventional arcade shooter, LAI Games appears to be combining mounted light-gun-style controls with physical targets and projected game effects.
Early cabinet renders show a substantial machine measuring 103 inches high, 52.5 inches wide and 155.6 inches deep. That makes it larger than a typical arcade basketball machine and a significant consideration for operators planning their floor space.
Several versions of the artwork have surfaced, with some renders apparently representing earlier designs. A distributor listing provides additional artwork and describes rubber bullets, along with single-player, cooperative and competitive modes.

For operators and collectors researching different cabinet formats, the RETROCADE arcade machine buying guide provides useful context when comparing footprint, controls and intended use.
How the mixed-reality system works
The visible control layout includes two fixed metallic guns. The renders also show a small opening in the cabinet’s protective panel, suggesting that the guns may launch a physical object such as a ball or pellet. The exact mechanism has not been confirmed.
Keeping the guns within their mounted range could help prevent players from aiming beyond the intended play area, an issue that has affected other physical shooting-game concepts.

The most distinctive feature is inside the cabinet. A preview image shows multiple circular physical drop targets arranged across staggered surfaces. These targets are similar to those used in amusement-park shooting galleries.
Projectors map the digital action onto the targets and surrounding surfaces, allowing the visuals to respond to the physical layout. The system is therefore more than a screen-based light-gun game: it combines real objects with projected interactive effects.

LAI Games moves into a licensed light-gun project
LAI Games began in Australia in 1958 and is one of the arcade industry’s longest-established manufacturers. The company is best known for sports and redemption attractions, although its catalogue also includes original and licensed video games.
The project follows LAI Games’ work on light-gun titles including Kaiju Rampage, which had only recently begun shipping when Cyberpunk 2077: Turf Wars was announced.
What remains unknown
The early material does not yet confirm how many levels the game will include, how much gameplay exists beyond the physical targets, or precisely how the guns and projectiles operate. Those details should become clearer when the machine is demonstrated at Amusement Expo 2025.
Its scale and unusual projection system make Cyberpunk 2077: Turf Wars an interesting development for arcade operators.
