RetroCade Since 1996

At RetroCade, we don’t just build arcade machines — we bring your childhood memories and gaming nostalgia to life, one handcrafted machine at a time.
Based in New South Wales, Australia, RetroCade is a proudly Australian-owned and operated business with a legacy dating back to 1996. For nearly three decades, we’ve been designing, building, restoring, and customising arcade and pinball machines for enthusiasts, collectors, businesses, and families across the country.
🎞️ Our Story – Where It All Began
Like many of you, our story began during the golden age of arcades — the 1980s and early 90s — a time filled with joystick battles, CRT screens, and the unmistakable clink of coins dropping into machines.
In 1996, our founder — a lifelong pinball lover and electronics hobbyist — began repairing and restoring old arcade cabinets in a humble backyard shed. What began as a hobby quickly gained momentum. As word spread about the quality and uniqueness of the builds, we transitioned from a side project into a full-time custom fabrication studio. RetroCade was born.
Our mission was (and still is) simple: to recreate the joy of classic gaming using modern technology, quality craftsmanship, and authentic artistic design — all built right here in Australia.
🧰 From Shed to FACTORY
By the early 2000s, we’d outgrown the backyard shed and moved into a dedicated workshop. Here, we began producing full-size custom arcade cabinets and virtual pinball machines complete with integrated lighting, force feedback, surround sound, and LED DMD displays.
We’ve built:
- Pinball machines for game rooms, collectors, and mancaves
- Arcade cabinets for restaurants, pubs, and entertainment venues
- Custom builds for corporate offices, expos, and brand activations
- Fully personalised machines for streamers and content creators
- Motion-enabled virtual pinballs for enthusiast leagues and clubs
Every RetroCade machine is built from scratch by hand — no mass production, no imported cabinets, no shortcuts. Just pure passion, technical skill, and premium parts.
🖌️ 100% Custom, One-of-a-Kind Machines
Every machine we produce is:
- Custom designed to match your vision
- Hand-wired by our skilled techs
- Digitally artworked and printed in-house
- Uniquely tailored to each customer
From classic MAME arcades to ultra-modern 4K virtual pinballs with tactile feedback and RGB matrix lighting, our machines are as much works of art as they are powerful entertainment systems.
🗣️ Real-World Experience
Over the years, we’ve built and shipped thousands of custom machines for:
- Retro gaming bars and arcades in major cities
- Home gamers and collectors across every Australian state
- Corporate clients and expos, including mining companies, breweries, software firms, and media outlets
- Families, often surprising their kids (or themselves!) with a once-in-a-lifetime gaming gift
We’ve had delivery trucks stuck in the rain, fixed CRTs that sparked on the bench, and seen customers tear up with joy when they flip on their machine for the first time.
These moments remind us why we do what we do — we don’t just build machines; we create memories.
