Marvel Rivals is preparing to turn one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s biggest battles into a huge player-versus-environment event. The upcoming “Path to Doomsday – Avengers: Endgame” mode sends 50 players into a fight against Thanos and his army.

Gameplay footage shows heroes including Captain America and Iron Man battling across a ruined landscape beside a destroyed Avengers Tower. Thanos wields an enormous double-bladed sword capable of instantly defeating opponents, while the scale of the encounter gives the mode the feel of a chaotic multiplayer take on Dynasty Warriors.

There is also a striking difference from the film: Thanos has been enlarged to roughly Giant-Man’s size. That change, combined with the number of players on the battlefield, should make this one of the most crowded encounters yet seen in Marvel Rivals.
A major shift from standard Marvel Rivals matches
The 50-player format is a sharp departure from the game’s usual six-versus-six battles, but it follows several experiments with larger and more cooperative play. A previous PvE zombie mode placed four players against an undead horde, while an 18-versus-18 mode expanded the competitive player count. The Times Square Hub can host up to 100 players in one gathering.
“Path to Doomsday – Avengers: Endgame” combines that large-scale approach with a cooperative fight against computer-controlled enemies. NetEase Games is scheduled to release the mode with the Season 10.5 update on 23 October.

What is included in Marvel Rivals Season 10.5?
Season 10.5 arrives during a broader run of new modes and events. Season 10 introduced “Path to Doomsday – Avengers: Infinity War”, in which six teams of two compete while collecting upgrades and Infinity Stones.

The season also includes the God Quarry map and a substantial collection of new skins. A Halloween: Night of Illusions event is planned as an interactive puzzle, although its details had not yet been revealed in the supplied announcement.
Season 10 will also break one of Marvel Rivals’ most consistent patterns. Rather than adding two new heroes, the season features only Gorr the God Butcher. NetEase says the reduced character rollout gives the development team room to concentrate on the new game modes. After Season 10 concludes, the studio plans to return to releasing approximately one new character per month.

Platforms and the next Avengers film
Marvel Rivals is free to play on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC and Xbox Series X. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is in development.

The next film in the series, Avengers: Doomsday, is scheduled to reach cinemas on 18 December. In the meantime, the new PvE event offers players a chance to recreate a version of the previous film’s climactic battle with dozens of teammates on the same battlefield.
