Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is expanding its first year of downloadable content with Jane Foster’s Thor, Venom and Jubilee. Arc System Works and Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed the remaining Year 1 fighters at EVO France.

Marvel Tokon Year 1 DLC roster and release schedule

The first post-launch addition is Phoenix Cyclops, arriving on 2 November. The rest of the announced schedule follows in 2027:

  • Winter 2027: Thor, in Jane Foster’s form
  • Spring 2027: Venom
  • Summer 2027: Jubilee

That gives the tag-team fighter a varied first-year lineup drawn from several corners of the Marvel universe. Players following the wider arcade and gaming news cycle will recognise the appeal of a roster that mixes major characters with less expected versions of familiar heroes.

Jane Foster’s Thor brings another roster surprise

The reveal does not show Jane Foster’s Thor in gameplay, but the trailer places her opposite Loki in the game’s Asgard stage. She is not new to interactive Marvel action: Jane Foster’s Thor was added to Marvel’s Avengers as one of that game’s final post-launch characters in 2022.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls has already taken some unconventional approaches to its playable characters. Its roster includes Shuri’s Black Panther instead of T’Challa’s version, while Phoenix Force-infused Cyclops replaces the standard interpretation.

Venom is the more familiar choice among the newly announced fighters. His arrival will also add a Klyntar-themed stage to the game.

Jubilee joins the Year 1 lineup

Jubilee’s planned summer release adds an X-Men character known for her bright, explosive powers. Her inclusion follows a playable appearance in Marvel Rivals, with Arc System Works now set to adapt her abilities for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls.

For players building a home setup around competitive fighters, the game’s tag-based format is a natural fit for a full-size arcade machine. A smaller bartop arcade can also suit limited Australian living spaces, while replacement joysticks and arcade buttons are useful for long local multiplayer sessions.

Platforms and access to the DLC

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is available on PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. The announced characters and stage content require either the $84.99 Digital Deluxe Edition or the base game together with the $34.99 Year 1 Character and Stage Pass.
