PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers have three new games to add to their libraries from 6 October 2026: F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2. Sony revealed the October lineup, which remains available until 2 November.
F1 25
EA’s Formula One racer provides the most traditional sporting option in this month’s selection. F1 25 includes offline Konnersport Career and My Team modes, alongside online competition for players who want to race against others.

Hunt: Showdown 1896
Hunt: Showdown 1896 takes the lineup in a darker direction. This first-person extraction shooter sends players into the American Frontier, where ruthless monsters, rival Hunters and valuable loot create the central tension of every match.
You can tackle its four maps alone or form a team of two or three players. The extraction format means surviving the encounter and securing rewards matters just as much as dealing with the threats in front of you.
Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2
Bright, colourful and built around voxel-style enemies, Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 offers a very different kind of shooting action. With Earth under attack, players must repel giant enemies in either single-player or four-player co-operative modes.
The game lets you assemble a squad from more than 100 characters and customise them with over 600 weapons and accessories. Fans of arcade-style shooting can also explore RETROCADE’s range of arcade light guns.
Last chance for September’s games
September’s PlayStation Plus Essential games remain claimable until 5 October. That group includes Chained Echoes, Sniper Elite: Resistance, Wobbly Life and MLB The Show 26.
What PlayStation Plus Essential includes
Essential is the entry-level PlayStation Plus subscription tier. It includes online multiplayer, a monthly selection of PS4 and PS5 games, cloud storage and discounts on PlayStation Store purchases.
