Yoshitaka Amano brings his style to One Piece Card Game
One Piece Card Game is set to feature original artwork by Yoshitaka Amano, the celebrated artist best known for his influential work on the early Final Fantasy games.
New Loki and Shamrock cards revealed
The announcement was made during One Piece Day ’26, an event that also featured news about upcoming One Piece films and the cast for season three of the live-action series.
Among the card game’s announcements were previews from Booster Pack Vol. 18, scheduled to begin arriving on store shelves in November 2026. The set will include new cards for characters such as Franky and Nico Robin, with the standout reveals being Loki and Shamrock cards illustrated by Amano.
Amano’s long history with Final Fantasy
Amano created much of the distinctive character artwork and visual design associated with the first six Final Fantasy titles. His relationship with Square Enix has continued, with the artist still contributing logo designs for new games in the series.
He also produced artwork for the Final Fantasy crossover cards released for Magic: The Gathering in 2025. The new One Piece cards are different: they are not crossover versions of Final Fantasy characters, but portray Loki and Shamrock within the One Piece setting.
That distinction makes the collaboration particularly interesting for collectors. Amano is interpreting existing One Piece characters through his own visual language rather than replacing the designs with another franchise’s cast.

One Piece Card Game Booster Pack Vol. 18 is expected to reach shops from November 2026. The source material also notes that collectors may face scalping concerns, although Bandai Namco has recently taken steps to address scalpers in Japan, including an in-store facial-recognition system.
