Overwatch players have discovered that support hero Niran “Lifeweaver” Pruksamanee has disappeared from the game, with Blizzard yet to provide a firm return date.
The unexplained removal is the latest piece of arcade and gaming news to catch players’ attention. Lifeweaver is no longer visible on the Hero Select screen in any mode, and he cannot be chosen in the Practice Range.
Blizzard has not initially explained why the hero was disabled. Possible causes include a game-breaking issue with his abilities or further work connected to the controversial change that allows tank and damage players to cancel his Life Grip. At this stage, however, the reason remains unconfirmed.

Blizzard confirms an active roster issue
Update: August 21, 2026, 4:25 p.m. ET: Blizzard has since displayed a message in the game explaining that Lifeweaver was removed because of an identified gameplay issue.
“Lifeweaver has been removed from the active roster due to an identified gameplay issue. The team is investigating the cause and working on a fix. The hero will return to the game once stability and competitive integrity are fully restored.”
The message confirms that the team is working on a solution, but it does not provide an estimated time for Lifeweaver’s return. Until then, players will need to select another support hero.
