Marvel Studios has shown a new two-minute trailer for Avengers: Doomsday at Disney’s D23 fan convention. The footage is the same trailer previously screened for attendees at San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H panel, but D23 gives a much wider audience its first clear look.

Doctor Doom’s threat takes centre stage
The trailer follows members of the Fantastic Four as they begin to understand the scale of Doctor Doom’s danger. Reed Richards, played by Pedro Pascal, and Sue Storm, played by Vanessa Kirby, separately recognise the threat and explain it to others.
Brief scenes show heroes including Ant-Man, Captain America and Thor sharing moments with their loved ones. Doom tells them they are living “stolen lives”, while another confrontation sees Thor face the Latverian ruler.
The new footage extends that battle, showing Doom casually knocking the God of Thunder aside. The display of power ends with Doom bringing a small force of damaged Sentinels back to life.

Avengers: Doomsday follows beloved heroes from three distinct universes as they’re set on a deadly collision course and face an existential threat unlike anything they’ve ever encountered.
The film is designed as a large-scale reunion, bringing together characters from more than a decade of Marvel Cinematic Universe stories with figures from the Fox-era X-Men films. Joe and Anthony Russo return to direct, with Marvel seeking to recapture the broad cultural impact and box-office success associated with their earlier Avengers films.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on 18 December. A direct follow-up, Avengers: Secret Wars, is already in development for 2027.
