Twenty years after Pandemic Studios and EA released Star Wars: Battlefront 2, players have uncovered a hidden feature involving the furry defenders of Endor and one of the galaxy’s most dangerous creatures. The third-person shooter, often regarded as one of the finest Star Wars games, still had a surprise concealed in its code.
How to unlock the Wampa on Endor
On August 9, modder Iamashaymin shared a video showing an undocumented Easter egg discovered during work on the PC version of Battlefront 2. The find came from decompiling the game rather than from ordinary play.
To activate it, create a new in-game profile named “Wampa”, then start the Hunt mode on the Endor map. The Imperial team will gain access to a playable Wampa, allowing the large, yeti-like creature from The Empire Strikes Back to attack the Ewoks.
Normally, Endor’s Hunt mode places small Ewok warriors against Imperial Stormtrooper snipers. The hidden profile adds a very different option: using the Wampa to tear through the diminutive resistance fighters.

Why the secret stayed hidden
The discovery is credited to S1thK3nny, a modder who is working on a soon-to-be-released mod for Star Wars Battlefront 2. That project is designed to remove several of the game’s older restrictions while adding new animations and other changes.
While examining the game’s code, S1thK3nny found the Wampa-related functionality. Iamashaymin says the Easter egg remained undiscovered because it sits deeper in the code, outside the sections where modders would typically investigate.

PC-only limitations
This Wampa Easter egg is limited to PC versions of Battlefront 2. It does not work on the console editions, and the trick cannot be used during online play.
There is one notable exception for modern players: the secret works in split-screen on PC when using the Classic Collection version released in 2024. It gives local multiplayer sessions a previously undocumented way to turn Endor’s familiar hunt into an Imperial Wampa rampage.
