The 4166, 1899 puzzle is found near the red tower in Big Walk. A red gourd sits inside a locked box, while the two numbers displayed above it point towards the solution.

Spoiler warning: This guide explains how to open the box and collect the red gourd.

How to solve the 4166, 1899 puzzle

The numbers are coordinates rather than a combination. You will need to cross the island and locate 4166, 1899 on the in-game map. If the map is not available yet, complete the red tower first and use its key to unlock the circular room near the starting area.

Use latitude for the map’s Y-axis and longitude for its X-axis. Marking those values will take you to a rock where the button for the locked box is located.

Items that make the search easier

Gathering a few tools before setting out can make the journey much simpler. The arcade gaming news section has more guides and game coverage.

  • Map: Find it in the circular room near the spawn point. The room becomes accessible after you finish the red tower and use the tower’s key. The map lets you plot the coordinates and reduces the chance of getting lost.
  • Walkie-talkies: These are on the hill southeast of the red tower. They allow one player to repeat the coordinates to another and confirm when the gourd has been collected.
  • GPS (optional): Look southeast of the green tower, beside the ski lift station. The device is relatively close to the button, so it is not essential, but it can help with the final search. Its light blue case displays two four-digit figures: the top number is your current latitude and the bottom number is your current longitude.

Carry the GPS until its readings bring you to 4166, 1899. For broader game-room inspiration, browse RETROCADE’s arcade machines and compact bartop arcades.

Finding and using the button

With only two players, the map should be your priority because you can generally use just one item at a time while travelling. A walkie-talkie can be attached to your backpack, allowing the player waiting near the gourd to repeat the destination and provide updates.

At 4166, 1899, search for a button on a joined rock positioned on a hill. The location is south of a puzzle in a green ring, where you count faces displayed across numerous monitors.

Opening the red gourd’s box

From the monitor-counting puzzle, turn away from the wall showing the red gourd prize. Walk up the hill towards the mountain, climbing as high as possible before turning around.

The button is set into the side of the joined rock. Keep holding it: the box remains open only while the button is pressed. Once it is held down, another player can take the red gourd from the box. Use the walkie-talkies to tell the others when the item has been retrieved.
